Just in case you wondering.....

Hannah is doing fine. Hannah had more tubes put in her ears yesterday and had her adenoids taken out. She had a set of tubes placed two years ago and we have had several ear infections with them in. Really, Really nasty ones to. One that smelled so bad I couldn't ride in the car with her, some with green goo coming out her ears and the scariest one was when her ears where bleeding. Needless to say it has been a rough two years for Hannah. She had yet another ear infection before we left for St. Geroge. The Dr.'s office was kind enough to get us in before we left so we could get her on antibiotics. During that visit the Dr. decided he wanted to check her hearing again and the news was not good. She had 40% hearing loss AGAIN!!! and she has 20 times the amount of pressure in her head than a normal kid. No wonder she was been such a stinker recently. Anyway, she had the surgery today. Her time slot was at 1:00! What crazy mean person schedules a 5 year old for surgery at 1:00 knowing they cant have anything to eat the night before. Hannah was fine until around 10:30 then the I'm so Hungry and crying began. I felt so bad for her. She did great. Me on the other hand no so much. I was brave and held it together while we were in the consultation room. I teared up once but was okay until they wheeled her back from surgery on that big ol bed and she had tears in her eyes. I lost it. The nurse looked at me and said are you crying because of this or something else!! Hello!!! Do you not have children. Anyway, I did cry more than Hannah and the nurse did make fun of me but O' well.

Update: I saved this as a draft and it has taken me a while to get back to it. Hannah started with a fever Tuesday night that lasted through Friday. I was sooo worried about her. I had to leave Wednesday afternoon for a meeting at work and as I was walking out the door Hannah came to me just sobbing that her eyes hurt. Coming from my child who never tells me when she is any sort of pain...I was concerned. I had to leave her with the babysitter but told her to call me if the Tylenol didn't help and if her fever got above 101. I called the Dr. again(yes, I called early in the day to ask about the fever it was just a little over 101 and the discharge instructions stated to call if that happened) They didn't seem concerned about her eyes hurting and told me just to continue with the antibiotic and Tylenol with codeine for the pain. Jai called me later that evening to inform me Hannah had yellowish/green goo coming from her eyes. It was a pea sized ball. I talked to one of the Dr.'s in the er and he suggested she be seen because she obviously had some sort of infection going on. I decided to call her ENT that did the surgery AGAIN(for the third time that day). I actually got to talk to him personally and explained what had been going on. He said in all of his years of practice he hadn't ever seen a post op infection present itself this way so he said it was highly unlikely that it was because of the surgery. He said she probably picked up a virus along the way and it just happend to coincide with the surgery. He told me to continue doing what we were doing and prescribed some antibiotic drops for her eyes. I thought for sure we were going to end up in the ER on thanksgiving because we wouldn't have any other place to take her to be seen that day. Luckily everything has cleared up and she is doing well. She has her post op visit on Friday and they will test her hearing again. I will keep you all posted. Thanks for everybody's support and concern.
