Halloween was a really long and busy day for us. The older girls didn't have school but Maddie's preschool had a field trip planned to a local farm to pick out pumpkins. Earlier in the day we had gone over to my brothers house. He just moved up here this week and we are so happy to have them close. Then we ran to subway to pick up some lunch and then it was time for the field trip. We got to go on a tractor ride. They piled us in these big flat bed trailers with benches and the tractor pulled us out into the field. They showed us some of the produce they had growing and tried to educate us on some of it. Not much was learned with 30 preschoolers. They each got to go out into the field and pick a pumpkin. When they found the one they wanted the farmer would come over and cut it off the vine. Hannah took the longest to pick hers out. She just couldnt decide. The the tractor pulled us back to the entrance of the farm. We then got to go wander around. They had all sorts of fun things for the kids to do. Lots of animals to look at. They had big slides to go down, a corn box(like a sandbox but filled with corn), a little train to ride. My kids favorite part was of course the animals. They had pigs, goats, cows, chickens, lamas. We spent lots of time feeding them. We spent about 3 hours there. When we got home we had pizza and got ready for trick or treating. We went trick or treating with some friends and had a really good time. It started to sprinkle outside and Paige decided we were done. We came home around 7:30. The girls had lots of fun handing out candy. We went through 10 bags of candy in and hour and half!!!!
