AHHHH My Sweet Little Hannah

This happened a few weeks ago but I forgot to blog about it when it happened......so, I will do it now. Hannah started kindergarten this year and is loving it. During the first week of school she came to me and told me that one of the girls in her class was having a really hard time and she wanted to draw her a picture. I said ok and got her a piece of paper and the crayons. She drew a cute little picture of two little girls(one was her and one was Breann). She drew the sun, sky and grass. She made some lines on the picture and wanted me to write some things for her. I of course was busy with something else but said okay but she would have to be quick. She told me to write "you are my bestest friend" I said "really, Hannah is she really your BEST friend? You just met her." she said "just write it mom". So I did. Then she wanted me to write "will you play with me at recess." and "I have two dogs named Koda and Mcduff and a turtle named Sandy." She continued with lots of other things but I told her we were out of room. She rolled her little picture up and put a little ribbon around it and put it in her backpack. I had completely forgetten she had done it until her teacher called later that day. My initial response when Mrs. Larabee called was "Oh, No Whats wrong!" She preceded to tell me that she appreciated sooo much what Hannah had done for Breann. Apparently Breann was having major separation issues and cried all day long at school and wouldn't leave Mrs. Larabees side. This obviously made it really difficult for her teach. She said when Hannah came in with that picture she asked if she could give it to her. Breann stopped crying. Hannah asked if she could come sit by her and Mrs. Larabee said that would be fine. They played at recess and she and Breann became instant friends. Mrs. Larabee just wanted to thank us for being so nice. She said she thought that was the nicest thing she had ever had a kindergartner do! I was so proud. I told her I wish I could have taken the credit but Hannah has always been such a sweet little girl. She just came that way. Mrs. Larabee informed me that Hannah has started a little phenomenon in her class. All the kids are now drawing each other pictures and writing little notes to each other. I am so proud to be her Mom. She was nominated for a "peace builder award" at her school(this is what helped remind me to blog about it). I hope she can continue to show concern for people around her and want to do things to make them feel better. I love her soooo much and am proud to say she is my daughter. By the way, did I say I was proud?

Here is one of those great parenting moments....

Here is one of those great parenting moments. You know the ones where you just want to find the closest hole and climb in it and hide or look at your child standing next to you and say "sure, I'll help you find your mom." This is one of those. Jai, Maddie, and I were at Kohls the other day. Maddie came with me. We were looking for clothes for the winter since it is getting colder. When we were done we went to search for Daddy. We walked past the lingerie dept. I will never go this way again! Maddie exclaimed in her loudest possible voice "Mommy, look at all the boobies!" (she was looking at the bras) I said "yes, Honey aren't they pretty. SHHHHH and come on." She continued......"Yours are big and mine are small"(this is when that hole would have come in handy. ) "Yours are squishy too." I think I turned all shades of red by this point. Some little old woman was laughing hysterically. I wanted to run and hide. I took Maddie's hand and as quickly as possible b-lined it for the other side of the store. Gotta love kids and the things they say:)

St. George Pictures

Sunny St. George.

Last weekend we took a trip to St. Geroge. We were all very excited to go. We left friday after all the kids were done with school. We finally hit the road at about 4:00. Unfortunatley, Paige gets car sick so we drugged her before we even got in the car. She slept for the first few hours of the trip. The other two watched Sleeping Beauty which I had bought that day for the trip. We stopped in Nephi for dinner and a break from the car and then hit the road again. After six hours in the car and about 100 are we their yets, we arrived in St. George at 10:00. The girls imidiately wanted to go swimming!!! We had to tell them no it was too late and the pool was closed. Which it was. They were a little dissappointed. In hind sight I am thinking we should have let them. When we arrived at 10:00 it was about 70 degrees, it never got that warm again all weekend until Monday when we left. (of course) We stayed in a Condo. It was awesome. We had two bedrooms and a murphy bed in the living room. We played the WII, went swimming(under duress, I really didn't want to go and it was freezing. I think it took three hours to get warm again), and went hiking in Snow Canyon. We had orginally planned on going to Bryce canyon but nobody wanted to do any driving. We found out that snow canyon was only ten minutes away so we thought we would check it out. I am sooo glad we did. It was fantastic. They had several short little hikes that the girls could do and we saw some really amazing sights. We also took the girls to see IGOR. It was okay. If I had to do it again I would save my money and just rent it when it comes out but it gave us something to do. On monday before we left we decided to hit the Red Cliff outlet shopping center. I love to shop and I love to get a bargain even more. We went to the Childrens Place outlet and found some great deals on winter clothes for the girls. While I was looking Maddie had to go to the bathroom so Jai took all the girls while I finished up. On the way to the bathroom they found a store that is a lot like build-a-bear. Paige insisted we had to go in. She and Hannah went to a birthday party for a friend in March at build a bear. Paige has been saving all of her birthday money and tooth fairy money($32) to buy an outfit for the animal she got. Unfortunatly, mommy hasn't found the time to take her and only her to the mall so she could spend her money. She has been saving it since March. How awful is that. We decided to let Paige and Hannah each pick out an outfit for the animals they had at home and we let Maddie choose an animal since she didn't have one yet. They loved it and couldn't wait to get home and dress up their animals. They played with Maddie's most of the way home. They didn't ask to watch a movie once. I was amazed. When we made it home their was SNOW on the ground!!! YUK. I am so glad we were in St. George and missed the blizzard.

What to do on a rainy day.

This weekend was rainy and cold. Paige kept asking my why it had to be rainy day. We haven't had one it awhile and since it we have had such nice weather they spend most of their time outside playing. The girls did go out in the rain with their umbrellas but decided it was pretty cold so maybe they should stay inside. We made hot chocolate with marshmallows. They decided to play "library". They have done this in the past and they always have a good time. The set up books all along the staircase. This time Paige made a sign. One side said OPEN and the other said CLOSED. The took turns being the person that checks out the books. Although at this library books cost money. Glad thats not the case at the "real" library. They played for hours which I was very grateful for. It gave me the chance to give the house a much needed cleaning.

BUGGIN'

So those of you that have known me for a while know about my BodyBugg. I bought it about a year and a half ago and wore/used it religiously for about 4 to 5 months and lost 48 pounds. I felt great and still had more too loose(scary I know) but because of my little family getting sick and not being able to go to the gym for about 4 weeks I got out of the habit. Here I am a year later and I have put about 20 of that 48 back on. I am soooo frustrated with myself. I have decided to put the BodyBugg back on. I put it on last week and have been tracking my food intake and trying to watch what I eat. I still have the occasional treat but I have been a lot better. I was soooo happy this morning when I stepped on the scale. It was been 8 days since I put the "bugg" on and I have lost 3 pounds. My goal is to loose 2 pounds a week by eating 1000 less calories a day than what I am burning. I am one pound a head of schedule. Yahoo! Can I get a Hallelujah!! I have been going to the gym while my kids go to their dance/tumbling classes and I have been going the Rehab center at work and using the equipment on my lunch the days I work. I am so happy to see some results. I tend to get frustrated easily when I don't see the scale going down and what do I want to do EAT!!! Just wanted to share my happy news and have a place to write about my progress.

**Oct. 26th** yeah!! I am down 2 more pounds. I have slacked off a little and was happy to get on the scale this morning and see 2 more pounds gone. It helps when the scale reflects your hard work. I think I finally have my eating under control. That is one of the hardest parts. Just being conscious of what you put in your mouth and counting EVERYTHING!!!
