Where did you go?

Many of you may be wondering what happened to our family blog.....Our laptop died about three months ago. Crashed!! No life left. I talked to my amazing, brilliant younger brother and he told me our hard drive had crashed and we needed a new one. CRAP!! What about the pictures? Can they be saved? That was the only thing I was worried about. I FINALLY took my computer to my brother two weeks ago and after lots of time and tricks on his behalf he was able to save the picture and the music. I am so excited!! The new hard drive has been ordered and should be arriving today so with any luck we will up and running again by the weekend. Thank you so much to my little bro! We owe you big time! I have lots of catching up to do and can't wait to be able to surf the net again at home. YIPEE!!!

Wendover MDA ride.

This weekend Jai and I rode to Wendover with Craig and Jennifer for the Harley MDA ride. They do the ride to try and raise money for the MDA. We left from the Harley shop in SLC at 2:00. They provided lunch at one of the rest stops along the way. We stayed at Montego Bay and our room was really nice. Two king beds. Sweet. The weather called for rain showers most of the weekend. We only hit rain once, we were only about five minutes away from Wendover and it started raining. Rain drops at 75 miles an hour HURT!!! Once we arrived, we checked in and got ready for the festivities. Craig works at the Harley shop in Riverdale and scored us a couple of VIP wrist bands for the events. We got free food and beer. Who could ask for more. They had 103.5 a local radio station hosting the event, Marcus a comdian that was runner up in Last Comic Standing, and the 1980's rock band Survivor. Marcus was okay but couldn't really keep my attention. I don't think he really connected with the crowd. Then 103.5 did an auction and auctioned off some signed guitars and other stuff to raise money for MDA. Then Survivor. I was really suprised at how well they did and I actually knew more than just one song. I thought the only song I would recognize was Eye of the Tiger but I knew 3 or 4 others as well. After the concert we went back to the casino and did what else...gambeled. We played blackjack and had a lot of fun. Jai and I both had 20.00 to loose but luckily we didn't. By the end of the night Jai was up 55.00 and I was up 5.00. I should have stopped about an hour before and I would have been up about 60.00....Oh well, I had fun anyway. I am a little sore today from the ride. It is amazing how hard it is to keep your head upright with the wind and huge cap on your melon. Jai was in heaven. He has been wanting me to be his biker babe on a ride for a while so it was like a dream come true for him. It was a lot of fun and have to admit I loved the jacket.

Funny things kids say.

We spent sunday at my friend Tereasa's house. They have a big pool in their backyard and invited us down for swimming and a BBQ. They live in sandy just around the corner from my mom's house. On the way down Paige was humming to a song on the radio and Maddie said "stop it paige thats annoising" she meant annoying but it definately fit. So now anytime the kids are being loud and obnoxious we tell them to stop they are annoising.

The people train.

The girls have been really excited for a long time to ride the "people train" a.k.a. The front runner. Last month we decided to take a ride down to the gateway. We had an appointment to have my iphone looked at. It was a little chilly that morning and of course Maddie forgot to grab a jacket. So our first stop once we arrived at the gateway was Old Navy. We found a cute little jacket for 6.50. Score! We went to my appointment and then did some shopping. We found each of the girls a shirt at Gymboree. We window shopped and then decided it was time to head home. Their was a really yummy cookie shop on our back to the train station. We bought each of the girls a cookie and a drink and walked back to the station and rode home. It was a quick trip but we had fun. As it turns out I do still get motion sickness. I started out sitting backward on the train...bad idea. I turned around which made it better but I still felt like puking. So I am not real eager to get back on the train and do it again:)

Maddies dance recital

Maddie had her dance recital on Saturday. She love, love, loves her costume and couldn't wait to put it on and have pink cheeks and eyelashes. The actually recital was kind of a zoo and I have decided the dance place she goes to is waaaaay to big and I will be finding a new place next year but other than that she did really well. She did her little dance, it was called shake your tail feathers. At the end they had all the dancers sitting on the stage and they were giving out some awards. They called Maddie so and so and Maddie assumed her name had been called so she went up to get her award. One of the nice ladies grabbed her and held on to her. Each child was given a trophy so she gave her trophy. I went up to get her and she was so excited. She said "I won mommy, look at my trophy!" She loves her trophy and even fell asleep with it in the car and didn't want to part with it for the first few days. I am glad to be done with dance for the season.

I love you 101!!!

I had to post about this because I think it is so funny. For about the past two months or so Hannah has been creating all sorts of cards and pictures with the phrase "I love you 101" on them. She sends several texts to her Dad each day telling him I love you 101 Dad. I'm not sure where she picked it up but I think it is so cute.

Spring Break

So it's nearing the end of our spring break! I had wonderful plans to do all sorts of things with my kids while they were out of school. I wanted to take them to the movies, the zoo, the treehouse muesem. I had promised Paige we would ride bikes to Maverick to buy treats. I have to admit it has been REALLY nice to sleep in (although I think Maddie and I are the only ones who have take full advantage of that). I feel so lazy! I did take the kids to see Monsters vs. Aliens which we loved. Seth Rogen is awesome and Bob totally made the movie. We did take our bike ride to Maverick to pick out treats. Paige was not going to forget that I had told her we could do that and bugged me everyday, all day until we went. I finally gave in on Wednesday. As for all of my other glorious plans....I guess they will have to wait until summer. My girls were so busy playing with all the neighborhood friends that I couldn't bring myself to tear them away from their friends. They played so well and we always had a few extra kids around. Funny how having more kids around seems to make things go smoother. I am so glad my kids have so many great friends to play with right here in the neighborhood.
